  1. Ruth, I enjoyed your presentation as usual. Your concluding point that we are seeing an irreversible process of new neo-liberalization of customary tenure is important. How can we then ensure that formalization of land addresses gender concerns, which tend to be grounded on norms, which evolve over a long period and can not be switched off with the passing of legislation?

  2. Ruth thank you for the presentation. Captivating reflection on how the evolving space towards formalization of customary land tenure then implicates on the land tenure rights of women. The need to interrogate the process and emerging dynamics in relation to women land rights as provisioned under customary law and how the formalization of these influences access to and use of land as commons by women.
